Meet the Richardsons!!! I was referred this mom-to-be by one of my favorite Charlotte make-up artist Alicia with Artistry by Alicia, who also did the makeup for this incredible shoot. Later I also found out that we have a mutual friend in common, Charlotte event planner Yolanda with Enchanted Weddings by Design . Now, when this beautiful mother-to-be called me I was actually just wrapping up all of my 2017 sessions and was done for the year. However, as soon as she got on the phone and told me her Uptown Charlotte/ Elegant theme maternity session, I just knew I was gonna cave in and open just ONE. MORE. DATE. LOL! Now that you know, you can talk me into coming out of holiday vacations, let’s dive right into this maternity session!
First, I’d like to talk about the weather. OH. MY. GOODNESS!!! It was a 25 degree cold windy day! Some of the sidewalks had frozen water, from the beautiful water fountains in our city, made for a dangerous stroll. Nevertheless, these two stunning souls braved it with a great attitude, a break at Starbucks, lots of laughs, and little concerns for my safety from wild ideas! (I’ll talk about those wild ideas in just a minute). We started out in front of the Hilton Charlotte Center City, and made our way through a few alleys, and busy Charlotte streets. We’d stop here and there when I became inspired by the light & shadows play, or the Charlotte artitecture. I just let the creativity flow with my surroundings, but of course I also made sure my clients were feeling up to braving each new step.
Finally, after braving the cold long enough, we went inside the former AT&T office building, that’s now known for having Wells Fargo employees. After checking with security, we were able to finish that evening in a warm cozy beautifully modern design lobby.
I enjoyed this session because I love when couples have sessions Uptown, and just fully being inspired by this wonderful city! Above all I loved that my clients trusted, and enjoyed our session, while having it on such a cold day.
I also promised to tell you about some of my wild ideas. Well for this shot below I climbed a slippery wall, and walked through line of pushes, with my legs wide open just to shoot through the tree branches. lol
And here in the images below I stood in a busy street with cars coming from every side just to get these shots in the light and shadow play. My clients for sure knew I was crazy enough to risk it all to get the perfect shot! What’s a few horns for me to move outta the way?? haha (joking…kinda…sorta. lol)
