I have been wanting to have a wedding styled shoot at The Ivey’s Hotel/Sophia’s Lounge since I went to visit last year Spring. Earlier this year I had met for lunch with Charlotte wedding planner and designer Dani with A Seamless Affair. After talking with Dani we realized we had similar goals for the year and styled wedding shoot. She did all of the planning and work in getting a great team of professional wedding vendors together for this Modern Glam shoot! We all came together on a nice breezy day in Uptown Charlotte.
When I arrived to the shoot, I was beyond excited, yet ready to have some fun! It was so nice to finally met hairstylist Lindsay with Mirror Bomb, and videographer Catey with West Mint Media, since we both had been following each on social media for a while. It was super fun meeting more vendors, as well! Everyone was so nice, warming and ready to have a great day. The models chosen for this shoot are actually engaged to be married in December. Oh how we wished we met each other sooner so that I could’ve been their wedding photographer. ( Insert sad face). Hannah and Drew were amazing! I totally understand why Dani chose a real couple. They even started to dance together as we were working around them to set up. (swoon).
Speaking of setting up, I wanted to start with photographing the wedding dress, details, stationary, and the amazing brunch provided by 5 Church! I loved that I was allowed to become as creative as I wanted. I pulled out my prism and was able to shoot some amazing shots. We were granted access to beautiful boutique hotel that’s connected with Sophia’s Lounge. That is where a lot of the magic happened for me! I love glass, reflections, and lights! All of those things made for major explosive creative shots! My creative heart was so full and that’s where we ended.
